englischDisease Interception is based on the idea of stopping the development of diseases before the clinical manifestation by providing a targeted (medical) intervention. The concept is located between the categories of prevention and treatment of illness and addresses a new group of people: those who are no longer completely healthy, but who are not yet ill in the traditional sense implying a lack of symptoms or functional impairment. The articles focus on the framework needed for the development and application of Disease Interception, in particular the use of health data and digitalization, but also on the patients' perspective, the ethical implications, and the law of statutory health insurance.

Der Disease Interception liegt die Idee zugrunde, sich entwickelnde Krankheiten mittels einer gezielten Intervention noch vor ihrer Manifestation zu beeinflussen bzw. aufzuhalten. Das Konzept ist zwischen den Kategorien Prävention und Krankenbehandlung angesiedelt und adressiert eine neue Personengruppe: diejenigen, die nicht mehr vollständig gesund, aber mangels Symptomen bzw. Beeinträchtigungen auch noch nicht im klassischen Sinne erkrankt sind. Im Fokus der Beiträge stehen die notwendigen Rahmenbedingungen zur Entwicklung und Anwendung von Disease Interception, insbesondere die Gesundheitsdatennutzung und Digitalisierung, aber auch die Patientenperspektive, die ethischen Implikationen sowie das Recht der Gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung.
