englischThis dissertation presents a cross-context analysis of the conditions for success and the organisational structures of higher education from the perspective of the provider. At its core are the notions of master’s programmes as the interface between vocational and academic education and being embedded in the discourse of higher education development. On the basis of the definition of organisational success, the author develops a theoretically sound framework for the qualitative analysis of the master’s programme ‘Social Management’ at five German universities of applied science. The results are the crucial development steps, success factors and conditions for success in the sustainable institutionalisation of post-graduate studies. This study thus makes the decisive focus of transdisciplinary development of degree programmes transparent, demonstrates the limits of economically oriented education management and provides recommendations for the practice of further education at higher education institutions.
Die Dissertation bietet eine kontextüberschreitende Analyse der Erfolgsbedingungen und Organisationsstrukturen wissenschaftlicher Weiterbildung aus der Anbieterperspektive. Im Zentrum stehen weiterbildende Masterstudiengänge als Schnittstelle zwischen beruflicher und akademischer Bildung und eingebettet in den Diskurs der Hochschulentwicklung. Auf Grundlage des organisationalen Erfolgsbegriffs entwickelt die Autorin einen theoretisch fundierten Rahmen zur qualitativen Analyse des weiterbildenden Masterstudiengangs Sozialmanagement an fünf anbietenden Fachhochschulen. Das Ergebnis sind die entscheidenden Entwicklungsschritte, Erfolgsfaktoren und -bedingungen zur nachhaltigen Institutionalisierung weiterbildender Studienangebote. Die Arbeit macht so die bestimmenden Zielorientierungen transdisziplinärer Studiengangentwicklung transparent, zeigt Grenzen eines betriebswirtschaftlich orientierten Bildungsmanagements auf und gibt Anregungen für die Praxis der Hochschulweiterbildung.
