englischThis book explores the highly topical question of how the willingness of older people to be vaccinated can be enhanced by means of health communication. Following an interdisciplinary approach, the book combines the message framing concept with theories from gerontology. In three sequential experimental studies, it investigates different moderators and mediators of message framing, with a particular focus on framing effects among individuals aged 60 and older. The book’s findings show that taking age-specific characteristics into account helps us to understand the effects of message framing better. Overall, results of the studies can be used in practice to address older target groups more effectively.
