englischYouth mentoring is an important instrument in reducing social disadvantages and educational injustice. However, the willingness to volunteer as a mentor, which is necessary for its implementation, has remained largely unexplored. In this study, voluntary work in youth mentoring is examined from various perspectives and multi-methodologically from a social and organisational psychological viewpoint. The study shows that the mentoring relationship, perceived self-efficacy and organisational appreciation are of central importance in fostering long-term commitment, while the basic willingness to volunteer is influenced in particular by individual perceptions of justice and responsibility.
