englischThe economic importance of restructuring of group insolvency law in the international context is constantly growing. This work highlights and describes opportunities, efficiency, and effects of a coordinated approach in group insolvency proceedings. In this context it examines the opportunities for creditors to participate in and to influence as well as manage conflicts arising from the implementation of a group-based restructuring or winding-up strategy. Beside other issues the essay illustrates why the instruments of group insolvency law may not be sufficient to achieve an optimal goal in the interest of the indi-vidual proceedings and that the creditors' self-determined autonomy has to be limitated by group insolvency law issues.
