As an empirical investigation of five different INCs shows, even “globalized News-Channels” tend to focus in their newscasts just on some few countries. Often the channels homeland and the G-8-nations are central to the news. Developing nations and emerging nations are frequently neglected.
The study focused on Al-Jazeera English, BBC World News, CNN International, France 24 and Russia Today and analyzed over a period of two weeks.

Eine empirische Untersuchung, u.a. von BBC World News und CNN International, zeigt, dass auch „globale Nachrichtenformate“ nur einige wenige Länder in ihren Nachrichtenfokus rücken. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei oftmals die Herkunftsländer der jeweiligen Sender sowie einige „Elitenationen“. Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländer werden auch von INC kaum beachtet.
Untersucht wurden die Nachrichten von Al-Jazeera English, BBC World News, CNN International, France 24 und Russia Today über einen Zeitraum von zwei Wochen.
