englischLast year, the first Württemberg constitution, the Weimar imperial constitution and the Basic Law each celebrated round-number ‘birthdays’. Liberal politicians had a more or less large share in the conception and development of all of them. For this reason, this yearbook’s eight articles, which derive from a colloquium, examine the constitutional work of German liberals not only with regard to these three constitutions, but in general from the pre-March period (Vormärz) to the present. Other individual contributions are devoted to the women’s rights activist Minna Cauer, the liberal press during the November Revolution, the sociologist Alfred Weber, and the jurist and politician Werner Maihofer. The 32nd volume is concluded by an essay on Baden liberalism before 1918.
