englischControlling knowledge work seems to be an oxymoron when considered from the perspective of the conven-tional understanding of ‘organisation’. Adopting an organisational approach, this book proposes differentiating between global control of organisation and local self-control of knowledge workers. It therefore examines insights into the design of organising knowledge work, such as crowdsourcing, in future studies as well as concepts for the management of knowledge and knowledge work. The author suggests that future studies should not be accepted as something fixed and immutable, but recommends using the opportunities offered by the designs they present instead. The organisational approach the author proposes boils down to the implementation of hybrid structures and new ideas on roles and skills in organising knowledge work. The author is a long-time member of the executive and management boards of a research institute in the field of management and human factors. His research interests focus on work and organisational design.
Die Steuerung von Wissensarbeit scheint im Sinne klassischer Organisationsverständnisse ein gegensätzliches Begriffspaar zu sein. Als Organisationsansatz wird in diesem Buch die Differenzierung zwischen globaler Steuerung der Organisation und lokaler Selbststeuerung der Wissensarbeiter vorgeschlagen. Dafür werden Gestaltungsverständnisse zur Organisation von Wissensarbeit in Zukunftsstudien, etwa Crowdwork, sowie Konzepte für das Management von Wissen und Wissensarbeit untersucht. Der Autor empfiehlt, Zukunftsstudien nicht als Datum hinzunehmen, sondern sehr viel stärker die Chancen der Gestaltung zu nutzen. Der vorgeschlagene organisatorische Ansatz läuft auf eine Umsetzung von Hybridstrukturen und neue Rollen- und Kompetenzbilder in Organisationen der Wissensarbeit hinaus.
Der Autor ist langjähriges Mitglied der Geschäftsführung und der Institutsleitung eines arbeitswissenschaftlichen Forschungsinstituts. Sein Forschungsinteresse gilt vor allem der Arbeits- und Organisationsgestaltung.
