englischDigital platforms shape our legal and economic system, leisure activities, information behavior and, in sum, our digital public sphere. The diverse legal issues associated with this are in flux and concern all legal sub-disciplines. This conference volume therefore seeks to bridge disciplinary divides and develop shared understandings of platform law. This attempt at an overarching perspective focuses primarily on the two centerpieces of recent EU platform regulation (DSA/DMA). Specifically, the volume zooms in on issues of implementation: How can global platforms be regulated on a local or regional scale? What role does private enforcement play in the implementation of the new regulations? Are regulatory paradigms that center on individual achievement or suffering – like copyright or anti-discrimination law – suitable for the platform phenomenon?
