englischThe challenges of modern society's exit from the production and consumption of fossil fuels form the starting point of this work. Based on the theory of functional differentiation, the study shows how system-relative the forms of processing mobility are in a modern society. A society that is neither a collective nor able to react as such is currently faced with the collective challenge of climate change. The transformation of transport is only one aspect of that crisis, which is framed by climate change issues. Carrying out the transformation will be a race against time as the consequences of climate change demand a much faster pace.
