englischThe book deals with the relatively new phenomenon of Private Enforcement in antitrust cases. The papers presented therein consider a wide array of unsolved questions starting with the legitimacy of private and public enforcement, conflicts arising from the different interests of private parties and public competition authorities. This is followed by a discussion of anti-trust liability claims within the given framework of European civil procedure. Emphasis is also given to the developing instrument of class actions in various member states. Furthermore recent regulatory approaches on the level of the European Union are discussed. The publication is rounded up by a supplementary analysis of jurisdiction agreements regarding cross-border anti-trust proceedings as well as the issue of a joint and several compensation in such proceedings.
