englischPhilosophical aesthetics is not exclusively concerned with questions of art, but more generally with problems of form-giving and perceptual mediation. In law, these questions are often considered in the context of methodology, but the evaluative and affective transformation of perceptions is generally suspected of being subjective. Aesthetics in the sense of a theory of perception is the appropriate discursive place to criticise such suspicion as a failure to mediate. This anthology examines, on the basis of a variety of phenomena, the ways in which not only linguistic, but also performative and media factors influence the formation of judgement. In its classical form, the philosophy of law consid-ers philosophical sub-disciplines such as ethics or political philosophy, but hardly aesthetics. In the present volume, however, research perspectives on legal aesthetics are tested as heuristic instruments.

»Der Band ist durchweg lesenswert und anregend. Der Band liefert zahlreiche Argumente und Anstöße, das Rechtsdenken um die ästhetische Dimension zu erweitern.«
