englischIndustrial Internet (“Industry 4.0”) solutions combine classic manufacturing with modern information and communication technology, leading to “intelligent” value-creation networks. This disruptive change raises a plethora of legal questions. While some of these issues follow legal problems of earlier socio-technical innovations, others are of fundamental nature because they are based on paradigm shifts in the economic system. Building on these shifts, the contributions of this volume focus on three radical new features of the digitalised factory of the future: data-driven business models and data ownership, machine-to-machine communication and legal responsibility, value-creation networks and legal restrictions of cross-company cooperation. The authors offer in-depth analyses of these phenomena and transfer the results into specific recommendations for the regulation.
