englischThe use of ordinary e-mail, which is the undisputed central electronic communication tool for business communication, is confronted with the fact that the authenticity and integrity of the message as well as the proof of delivery cannot be guaranteed. De-Mail is meant to ensure these effects in an easy-to-handle manner. By comparing the technical, organisational and legal foundations of the conventional e-mail on the one hand and the De-Mail on the other hand, the study addresses the question whether the De-Mail in its legal framework provided by the De-Mail Act and other legislative acts achieves this objective.
