englischMore than 50 years after the implementation of the protection of simple photographs to avoid difficulties in distinguishing between protectable and non-protectable photographies, the possibilities of taking photographies have changed significantly. Thus, the question of which products are being covered by protection of simple photographs from a technical point of view is gaining increasing attention. Showing photographs in a close circle of family and friends that have been developed in a photo lab before has been replaced by sharing digital content in social media. As a result of these developments, the protection of simple photographs is increasingly coming under pressure to justify itself. The work examines the scope and justification of § 72 UrhG in the digital age.
