englischMachines are omnipresent; advances in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence are fast-paced. Robots are becoming subjects of interaction processes. The function of machines and cyborgs, sometimes in humanoid shape, sometimes hidden as ambient technologies, is not always to assist humans. They also challenge us, be it in games, in relation to moral stances or regarding human self-conceptions. Based on discussions at a conference workshop held at the TTN Institute in Munich, this book presents a collection of texts that explore current developments and trends in the field of human-machine interaction. The arising challenges are discussed from ethical, anthropological, historical, legal and sociological perspectives.
