englischThe dissertation analyzes the effects of bankruptcy of one or both parties on the arbitration proceedings. It points out the area of conflict between the compulsory bankruptcy law and arbitration law, which is governed by the principle of party autonomy.

Therefore, the dissertation surveys the effects of bankruptcy of national arbitration proceedings and cases involving a foreign element. A main emphasis of this survey is put on the question which law is applicable in international arbitration proceedings, if the effects of insolvency proceedings on a current arbitral procedure are at stake.
