englischIn this study, the use of so-called ‘social bots’ by political parties is discussed primarily in connection with elections. This form of automation enables parties to disseminate opinions virtually without any limits. This thesis deals with the constitutional issues resulting from this, but also with the regulatory framework under simple law that exists for the use of social bots by political parties. At the same time, it looks at party competition and examines the extent to which control by political parties themselves is possible in order to safeguard party competition. Moreover, the author reveals the possibilities de lege lata as well as various possibilities de lege ferenda in this respect.
