englischThis collection of essays deals with the aspects of Georg Lukács’ work that relate to state theory and with his political practice, which, following Lenin’s example, was related to the production of theory in a way that has so far mostly been overlooked. Fourteen authors discuss the concept of democracy, its relation to the issue of the sovereign and the ethical dimension in Lukács’ revolutionary practice. In addition to the development of his thinking from a recognised cultural philosopher to a revolutionary Marxist theorist, his relationship to German idealism, Max Weber and Jürgen Habermas is discussed. The essays try to show that Lukács, as a theoretician and practitioner of politics, is our contemporary.
