englischThe present analysis from the perspective of the UWG shows which search engine optimization (SEO) measures are permitted or prohibited under competition law.

The investigation is initially devoted to a presentation of SEO, as well as the classification of the latter with regard to the UWG, and shows the fundamental problems of a fair consideration of SEO and UWG.

Subsequently, the author subsumes a variety of case constellations of SEO under the facts of the UWG. There follows a discussion of the previous case law on UWG and SEO.

The work provides concrete instructions for the application of competition law concerning cases of SEO.
