englischThis work examines separation and labeling requirements as a basic principle of editorial work from the perspective of the media and the law on unfair competition, and considers the question of whether the various legal regulations can be combined into one congruent legal framework.

It analyses the legal requirements for broadcasting, television media, the press and cinema, and devises overarching media principles based on the purpose of the different obligations of separation on the one hand and labeling on the other hand. It places particular focus on the provisions for broadcasting, surreptitious advertising and product placement influenced by European law.

The work examines the results obtained in the media in terms of their compatibility with the law on unfair competition regarding the labeling of business activities in the media, which were extensively revised through the amendment of the unfair competition act in 2015.
