englischThe discussion on the situation of over-indebtedness was rekindled by the upcoming implementation of the directive on preventive restructuring frameworks. On this occasion, the Heidelberger gemeinnützige Gesellschaft für Unternehmensrestrukturierung mbH [non-profit society for corporate restructuring] and the Chair of Insolvency Law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg hosted a workshop with the title “Over-indebtedness: Quo vadis?” on 1st October, 2019. This volume summarises the main conclusions of the workshop and presents the talks given by speakers from academia and practice in written from. During the work-shop, a strong focus was on the examination of over-indebtedness from the perspectives of the main parties involved in insolvency proceedings as well as on the effects the introduction of the preventive restructuring framework has on the German concept of over-indebtedness.
