englischThe volume contains the papers presented at the Eighth Heidelberg Symposium on Corporate Restructurings held on March 10, 2015. The papers focus upon current trends in corporate restructurings and reorganizations and the practical experience with the new German Insolvency Law of 2012, especially the committee of creditors (Gläubigerausschuss) and the new Schutzschirmverfahren, i.e., insolvency protection proceedings patterned after Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. In addition, the volume deals with central aspects of the new European Insolvency Regulation 2015/848 which will apply to insolvency proceedings effective after June 26, 2017. The focus is on the Regulation’s new principles of international insolvency law and the Regulation’s approach towards insolvencies in the context of groups of companies. Last but not least, the book addresses the question of to what extent, if any, rules on the compensation of professionals, including lawyers, account-ants and bankruptcy trustees, are in compliance with EU law.
