englischConstitutions form the legal basis of a society. They reflect a society’s essential basic decisions, and as societies change, so do constitutions. At the same time, they offer basic stability and a strong foundation for argumentation in legal discourse. These conference proceedings comprehensively highlight the process of change of and interaction between constitutions over time, which concerns, for example, the characteristics of constitutions as well as forces that emanate from or affect constitutions themselves. In addition, new constitutional models are emerging as a result of increasing internationalisation. Constitutions are also coming under increasing pressure in the face of changing realities such as technologisation and digitisation. European-wide populist movements are doing the rest. These manifold challenges are discussed in detail in this conference volume by renowned young academics.
