englischFrom March 28 to 30, 2019, the 7th Young Criminal Law Symposium held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Hamburg and at Bucerius Law School dealt with the interdisciplinary topic of "Victims in Criminal Law“. The conference contributions that are now available range from a fundamental investigation of the victim's position in the doctrine of criminal law, to questions from the general part of criminal law, such as the relationship between subjective perpetrator perceptions and objective victim protection in cases of abandonment, to procedural law topics such as victim participation in proceedings before the International Criminal Court, the victim's access to evidence and the participation of the victim in plea bargaining agreements. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Jan Philipp Reemtsma added to the volume his opening lecture given at the symposium on the subject of "The Perpetrator as the Protagonist of Criminal Proceedings and the Victim's Right to Attention".
