englischIn a practice-orientated way, this book highlights the special importance of values in increasing compliance in companies and contributes to the current controversies surrounding the departmentalisation and the best possible assignment of overseeing compliance in a company. Based on an analysis of the factors that determine the effectiveness of compliance management systems, it emphasises the influence of values on compliance culture. The analysis focuses on the motivational role of compliance officers and their capacity to act as representatives of values. Criminological, socio-psychological, economics and recent empirical compliance studies are included in the research. Using her own quantitative empirical survey, the author provides new insights into the values, professional orientation and the desired corporate culture of compliance officers from various fields as well as into their willingness to identify with a company's goals.
