englischThe supply chain for food is characterized by a steadily increasing concentration of the food industry and food retail trade. The resulting economic imbalances in the bargaining position of the players involved are often at the expense of their weakest link - the farmers. Against this background, this study examines whether and to what extent Union law can contribute to improving the market position of farmers through the instrument of producer organisation and Directive (EU) 2019/633 on unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain.
