englisch Among art historians there is a growing interest in space and spatiality as parameters in the arts. This creates questions about shifts in institutional, curatorial and artistic practice arising from the reflection of spatial relationships in theatre/dance/performance, exhibitions and installations, cinema and other methods of projecting moving images. The aim of these shifts is to bring together two different modes of presentation – Black Box und White Cube – and to make them interact and transform. In this dynamic of shifting, new relationships are negotiated and created between spaces and locations, interiors and exteriors, actors and observers. The essays collected here, by artists, scenographers, curators and media and theatre studies experts, reflect this development.
