englischIn recent scholarship, the term ‘resource’ means more than just raw materials. In fact, it is the socio-cultural evaluation of material and immaterial means by communities or societies that researchers see as crucial for the formation and use of resources. This volume contains approaches from ancient history and Greek philology to demonstrate the broader potential applications of the resource concept developed by the Tübingen SFB 1070 ResourceCultures. This resource concept allows for the use of poetry as evidence in the field of ancient history, since it can be used to identify contemporary evaluations. On the other hand, it is possible to analyse how authors used the poetic or poetological potential of resources in their own environment to shape their themes or their identities as poets or writers.
