englischWhistleblowers continue to cause difficulties for German jurisprudence since, despite the entry into force of the HinSchG, important legal policy questions remain unresolved. These relate, among other things, to the breaches of duty covered, anonymous tips, the relationship between internal and external reports, data protection and the corporate dimension of whistleblower protection.

Basing her analysis on the original draft of the HinSchG, in this study Caroline Schrüfer discusses the central, still current legal/political controversies relating to this issue and contributes well-reasoned proposals to the debate on it. The author thus makes an important contribution to the legal policy discussion on the protection of whistleblowers.
