However, it is not yet entirely clear how this basic empathetic attitude is changing ethics and what kind of empathy is involved. In this respect, the point of departure for a form of empathy based on collective humanity can be understood quite differently than if one only considers empathy to be the act of adopting a more or less sensitive perspective. Along with a basic empathetic attitude, listening has become important in the process of ethical reflection. Moreover, underpinned by empathy, an awareness of vulnerability is influencing thinking about human rights, justice and participation. On the basis of these considerations, this book develops a blueprint for ethical thinking in the aftermath of the coronavirus.
Es bricht etwas Neues beim ethischen Nachdenken an, welches vermehrt von der Empathie ausgeht. Aber es ist noch nicht so klar, wie eine empathische Grundhaltung die Ethik verändert und von welcher Art von Empathie man ausgeht. So kann der Ausgangspunkt einer gemeinsamen Menschlichkeit Empathie ganz anders verstehen lassen, als wenn man diese nur als mehr oder weniger sensible Perspektivenübernahme betrachtet. Mit der empathischen Grundhaltung wird für den reflexiven ethischen Prozess das Zuhören wichtig. Und unterfüttert von Empathie wird das Bewusstsein von Verletzlichkeit in das Nachdenken über Menschenrechte, Gerechtigkeit und Teilhabe hineingetragen. Auf Basis dieser Betrachtungen erfolgt in diesem Buch ein Entwurf für die Post-Corona-Zeit.
