But it seems to be hardly aware of its responsibility: Politics and society need more than participation in demonstrations and activism in social media, the economy needs more than just well-trained academics. Young people can and must face the challenges of the present with conviction and verve.
Die Corona-Krise, der Klimawandel, die Zukunft Europas und nicht zuletzt der demografische Wandel – dies sind die Herausforderungen, vor denen besonders die junge Generation steht. Doch ist sie sich ihrer Verantwortung kaum bewusst: Politik braucht mehr als Klima-Streiks oder Bekenntnisse in sozialen Medien, die Wirtschaft braucht mehr als nur Akademiker mit Bestnoten. Daher ist eine ehrliche Kritik an der Jugend aber ebenso der Hinweis auf Schwächen bei der Ausbildung und Erziehung dringend geboten.
