englischThe publication of the panel “Cold War Music Historiography: Focus on the GDR”, which took place at the annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Musikforschung at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, deals with historiographical questions concerning the musical culture of the GDR. Among other things, the authors examine the influence of the Cold War, the problems of the source situation, performance and new music, as well as Marxist music historiography.
The anthology is based on the multimedia research and publication project “Music History Online – GDR”, initiated by Matthias Tischer, Nina Noeske and Lars Klingberg.

Die Publikation zum Panel „Cold War Music Historiography: Schwerpunkt DDR“, das auf der Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Musikforschung im September 2022 an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin stattfand, beschäftigt sich mit historiographischen Fragestellungen zur Musikkultur der DDR. Dabei nehmen die Autor:innen unter anderem den Einfluss des Kalten Krieges, die Problematik der Quellenlage, Interpretationen und Neue Musik sowie die marxistische Musikgeschichtsschreibung in den Blick.
Ausgangspunkt des Sammelbandes ist das von Matthias Tischer, Nina Noeske und Lars Klingberg initiierte multimediale Forschungs- und Publikationsprojekt „Musikgeschichte Online – DDR“.
