In an online survey of 214 amateur musicians and 123 amateur football players in Hesse, Jennifer Nowak addresses this question in depth. She highlights selected concepts in motivational psychology and subsequently presents the results of her online survey in terms of incentives, personality and flow state. Both the hypotheses she derives from these results plus a blueprint she suggests for encouraging playing music in one’s spare time reveal relevant findings for theory and practice in this regard.
Rund 14 Millionen Deutsche musizieren regelmäßig in ihrer Freizeit. Viele sind Mitglied in einem Blasorchester oder einer Blaskapelle, und ihr ehrenamtliches Engagement leistet einen wichtigen Beitrag zur regionalen (Musik-)Kultur.
