englischFor parents, teachers, the gaming industry and politicians, the author has examined over 300 of the currently most relevant role-playing video games: While some of them raise awareness about discrimination, mobile games for players aged nine and upwards often contain racism, gambling, sexualised depictions of children and the glorification of war. Strong women are al-most always witches, monsters or machines. What is new is that they are squeezed into traditional forms of masculinity. These stereotypes have far-reaching implications because video games are the most economically significant art form.

Mateo Klanisek, MEd., a primary school teacher, lawyer and student of the fine arts, investigates where the development of such games is headed, sheds light on legal aspects relating to this issue and develops a teaching concept in this respect.
