englischKant’s Critique of Judgment is a difficult and highly disputed piece of philosophy. This also holds true for its first part – the Analytic of the Beautiful. In this commentary it is investigated what beauty is for Kant, what his theses, for instance on beauty’s disinterestedness and universality, mean and how these theses are inferred. Therefore, Kant’s theses, definitions and arguments are analyzed and reconstructed in a clear and comprehensive manner. The overall aim is to provide the reader with a better understanding of Kant’s theory of beauty as a whole and in detail.
In der preisgekrönten Arbeit von Larissa Berger mit dem Titel „Kants Philosophie des Schönen“ wird eine Analyse und Rekonstruktion des kantischen Texts „Analytik des Schönen“ entwickelt. Mittels der Methode der kommentarischen Interpretation wird eine sehr textnahe und detaillierte, zugleich aber analytisch-argumentative Interpretation der kantischen Schönheitstheorie entwickelt. Dazu werden Kants Thesen, Definitionen und Argumente klar analysiert und rekonstruiert, sodass die Theorie insgesamt verständlicher und damit auch anschlussfähiger für aktuelle Debatten wird. Das Resultat ist ein umfassender Kommentar, der entweder in Gänze oder als eine Art kommentierendes Nachschlagewerk für einzelne Paragraphen, Begriffe und Thesen genutzt werden kann.
