englischConsidering that there are currently over 10 million disabled persons in Germany, the concept of reasonable accommodation is of particular importance in employment law. The book examines this concept in an employment context, focusing on European antidiscrimination law and its transposition into German and British law. The main focus lies on the different aspects of Article 5 of the Framework Directive 2000/78/EC which requires Member States to implement an employer obligation to provide reasonable accommodation for disabled employees and applicants. Given that the German legislator did not transpose this duty into statutory equality law, the book addresses the question of whether German law is in line with EU law in this respect.
