englischThe thesis examines questions of liability under contract and tort law for physical autonomous systems and focuses on the liability of the user of these systems. The specific risks of autonomous systems push traditional liability regimes to their limits. Whether new regulations are necessary and what they might look like, is discussed on the basis of a comparative analysis of German and US law. The thesis defines key terms, explains specific risks of autonomous systems, and takes into account particular characteristics of the "Industry 4.0". Finally, the thesis presents regulatory options for the German legislature, with the main focus on the introduction of a new strict liability regime.
