At the same time, Prussia’s existence as a democratic free state within the Weimar Republic is illustrated, always including the impact of the Prussia-Reich dualism on the federalism of the Reich. The dissertation outlines the structure and organization of the Prussian Free State and its provinces, presents the organs – the Landtag, the Government and the State Council – and deals with the judiciary, administration and church in the Prussia. Furthermore, the dissertation analyses the influence of the Prussian constitution on the seizure of power by the National Socialists.
