englischSo far „Home-School-Agreements“ (as they are called in England) have hardly been examined from a legal point of view. These agreements are made between parents, their children, and public schools and contain rules of behaviour. In some states in Germany these agreements have already been ­recognised by the legislative process (for example § 42 Abs. SchulG of North-Rhine Westphalia).

This book tries to answer emerging legal questions about this educational instrument: The author classifies them as agreements on objectives which can have the legal status of a ­public-law contract. Following this conclusion, the book also examines under which conditions the agreements can still be qualified as being free from coercion and which contents are legally permitted.
