englischThe establishment and activities of Europol have resulted in considerable Europeanisation in the fight against serious and organised crime in Germany. These processes of change encompass legal and organisational structures as well as strategic and operational approaches in police work. As regards their underlying mechanisms, a simple cause-and-effect relationship is not suitable. Instead, Europeanisation in connection to Europol is predominantly driven by socialisation and learning processes which are heavily influenced by domestic preferences and interests. This study allows insights into a research field which has barely been analysed and provides approaches for future research activities.
