englischThe book documents the conference “The Biodiversity of the Forest and its Legal Safeguarding” held in 2021 by the DNRT and the UFZ Leipzig. The contribution “Forest, hunting, nature conservation and law” has been newly included. Climate protection aspects are dealt with in view of the biodiversity crisis, which – unlike the climate crisis – is to be managed primarily on the spot (in situ) and by domestic law. As in the volume “Agriculture and Nature Conservation Law,” the contributions provide a well-founded overview of forest ecology as well as of the legal basis of forestry management. The legal papers show that the current forestal practice does not correspond to the ecological liability of forest owners and violates Natura 2000 law.

Das Buch dokumentiert die vom DNRT und UFZ Leipzig 2021 veranstaltete Tagung „Die Biodiversität des Waldes und ihre rechtliche Sicherung“. Der Beitrag „Wald, Jagd, Naturschutz und Recht“ wurde neu aufgenommen. Klimaschutzaspekte werden mit Blick auf die Biodiversitätskrise behandelt, die – anders als die Klimakrise – primär vor Ort (in situ) und durch nationales und europäisches Recht zu bewältigen ist. Wie im Band „Landwirtschaft und Naturschutzrecht“ geben die Beiträge einen fundierten Überblick über die Ökologie des Waldes sowie die Rechtsgrundlagen forstlicher Bewirtschaftung. Die juristischen Beiträge zeigen auf, dass die aktuelle Praxis der Ökologiepflichtigkeit des Waldeigentums nicht entspricht und das Recht zu Natura 2000 verletzt.
