englischThe aim of the study is to analyze the situation of school children and to show the characteristic features of the children of immigrants related to their friendships with natives and their school performance. The main intention of this analysis is to find ways to support upriviliged children and to reduce the existing social inequalities - at least partially. The structural requirements and education-related consequences of friendships between immigrant children and non-migrants are analyzed in this study. Special emphasis is on school classes, sport and music clubs as structures which can connect immigrant and non-migrant children to let them develop friendships with each other. It is examined in how far friendships contribute to school performance of children and if their socioeconomic status and the migration experience of their parents play a role in this process.
