englischCloud computing is widely spread in the modern IT landscapes – yet the particularly relevant question who is held liable in case of lost data, has not been resolved sufficiently by the scientific community as of now. The book examines legal issues relevant in this respect from applicability of decisive civil law up to providing evidence regarding liability requirements by the injured. In this respect, not only contractual liability of the cloud provider, but also the liability in tort of the external hackers for unauthorised data deletion is being examined. Finally, it is of particular importance, which lost data sets even warrant an occurrence of damage and how the extent of actual damages may be quantified in this case.
