englischThe main aim of the book is to analyze the regulatory aspects of harmful interference faced by those operating space communication and broadcasting – the increasing deterioration of signals from broadcasting and communication satellites, including cases of intentional interference known as „jamming“.

It answers following questions: Is the present international regulatory system based on the legal instruments of the International Telecommunication Union well equipped to prevent and combat harmful interference? What are the legal consequences of non-compliance with its rules? How are national regulatory authorities involved in procedures dealing with this phenomenon? And finally, is the development towards the integration of spectrum management on the European level the most promising path to improve the situation?

The prominent international authors form the areas of international telecommunication law, space law and European law analyze these problems on the examples dealt with by the ITU recently and search for the new ways of fighting against this phenomenon.

The editor, professor Mahulena Hofmann, holder of the SES Chair in Satellite Communication and Media Law in Luxembourg, is an internationally recognized expert in this area.
