englischBody-worn cameras are utilized by police officers to increase their protection when interacting with the public. This thesis studies legal issues concerning body-worn cameras and constitutionality as well as conformity with Union law. In this context, consequences of the Directive (EU) 2016/680, originating from the European data protection reform, are discussed as well. By analyzing and comparing different laws the author highlights po-tential for improvement and suggests specific supplementary modifications. Additionally, the constitutional requirements of body-worn cameras within private areas are pointed out. Therefore, the results of this thesis are of interest for science, practice, and legislation.
