englischIn view of the heterogeneity of employees in a competitive social market, diaconal institutions have always striven for a corporate culture with a clear profile in which religion, spirituality and ethics play a particular role. However, corporate culture does not only refer to the symbolic communication between values and guiding principles but also has a constructive effect, giving the reality of a welfare organisation a certain structure. In this context, the implicit and explicit religious knowledge base of the organisation itself is the decisive and critical resource. This study sets out to investigate the possible effects and limitations of religious knowledge within diaconal organisations and discusses them in detail against the backdrop of international literature on organisation and management studies. With a special focus on senior executives in social welfare organisations, the study identifies and indicates perspectives of a reflexive diaconic corporate culture targeted at shaping its prospective future.
