englischThe controversy concerning the type, extend and consequences of the involvement of selected scientific disciplines and its expert representatives with the National Socialist regime has been the subject of debate since the 1980’s. This debate concerns the assessment of actions in the years between 1933 and 1945 on the one hand, as well as the question as to the effect of these actions after 1945 on the other hand. The political sciences only made up leeway in contributing to the public discourse during the Theodor Eschenburg debate. This volume presents the lectures held at the DVPW conference by the working group “Politics and History”. The conference dealt with the complicated continuity question within the political- and historical sciences. At the center of discussion are the following questions: Did the discipline of the political sciences exist after 1933? If so, in how far did this discipline engage with the then present regime? Which continuities exist since 1945?
