englischDuring the financial crisis of recent years Social Entrepreneurship has aroused a great deal of interest in international politics and is discussed as a forward-looking approach to solving social problems by an ever widening section of the scientific community. The current debate is dominated by the presentation of outstanding individuals in a media-effective way and by focusing on aspects of economy and management, whereas the scientific debate is still in its infancy. Based on the detailed discussion of existing attempts to define the popular phenomenon, this volume identifies the lack of an ethical foundation as a central deficit in current theory. Using the widely neglected perspective of Social Work as a Human Rights Profession, it presents impulses with regard to the content and structure of Social Entrepreneurship, thus contributing towards its ethical foundation.
