englischThe situation of students at universities is special, because the time in which they live and work in academia between science, peer group and independence is formative for the development of their personality. Communication is the medium of identity formation and self-expression and this communication process in academia is a central component of identity formation and self-expression for students. This communication process is not sufficiently protected as part of the development of personality at universities and thus there exists a situation of endangerment of the identity-forming communication process in academia. Therefore, the protection of fundamental rights needs to be extended to include the right to academic self-determination.
Die Situation von Studierenden an Hochschulen ist eine besondere, denn die Zeit in welcher sie an Hochschulen zwischen Wissenschaft, Peer-Group und Eigenständigkeit leben, ist prägend für die Persönlichkeitsentfaltung. Kommunikation ist das Medium der Identitätsbildung und Selbstdarstellung und dieser Kommunikationsprozess in Academia ist zentraler Baustein der Identitätsbildung und Selbstdarstellung der Studierenden. Dieser Kommunikationsprozess wird als Teil der Persönlichkeitsentwicklung an Hochschulen nicht ausreichend geschützt und so existiert eine Gefährdungslage des identitätsbildenden Kommunikationsprozesses in Academia. Deswegen benötigt es eine Erweiterung des Grundrechtsschutzes durch das Recht auf akademische Selbstbestimmung.
